The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is a rebranded national health protection programme. For some vulnerable segments of society, it will help make tertiary and secondary healthcare in India fully cashless.

Beneficiaries of the programme will receive an electronic card that will enable them to use authorised private or governmental hospitals to obtain services. With this card, the beneficiary can receive cashless medical care throughout India. The programme covers the recipient family for 5 lakhs and includes 3 days of pre-hospitalization and 15 days of post-hospitalization.
